Hey yall, any advice on how to come back to making finished pieces? I haven't done one for like 4 months and now I'm a little scared and can't start any serious thing ๐Ÿ˜– fear of failure, I guess???Apr 12, 2021

My tip is just to take lots of pictures along the way! Then, if you mess up you can always redraw it

First of - remind yourself drawing is supposed to be fun, not just a means to an end that is a "perfect picture"!
Second, ppl said it already, but the fuck it mindset and the finished is better than perfect is really what will get you further.
There was an experiment, with two classes of clay working (I believe? ), one was given the task to create 100 pots in a month, the other should create only one, perfect one in that month.
Turns out the people who threw out 100 pots in a month created more cap, but had much better pots in the end than the class that overworked only the one pot.
Perfectionism is poison! Better create bad art than yearning for the "perfect pic" that nobody will ever reach. โœจ

I read somewhere yesterday that finished is better than perfect. I find that making work without any expectations of how polished or good it's gonna be gets me through it smoothly ๐Ÿ˜Œ
