Nan-Te'gah

Since I got the one or other question about these people and I promised to post a more detailed drawing: Here it is! The [Nan-Te'gah] live on a planet called [Qu'tar] (pronounced: Qu - like the first two letters of cube and tar - like car, but with T), a planet with lots of water, but polluted water unfortunately.

"They call us Sky Folk, not because we have wings and are free to fly wherever we want to. No, that name is a stigma, a reminder of what we did to our nature. You must know that ninety-seven percent of Qu’tar’s surface is covered with water. It once was beautiful lands, rich with life and colors. But we always stood above that. We looked down to the lesser creatures with disregard and sometimes with pity. We never cared for our home. We used it when needed it and tortured it with waste and darkness. We poisoned the azure coasts, the turquoise beaches, the deep green swamp lands, the yellowish water fields, and the deep, black oceans.
The consequences were painful. We had to leave our habitats on the ground. We had to go higher, much higher than we were supposed to, build a new home there – cities and ships in the sky, never to reach the ground again. Now we live on the brim of air, where we can barely breath, far away from the poisoned land that contaminates our fragile bodies. We are surviving here in the breezily heights of our planet, depended on the resources of the outer worlds. From the very day of our ascension, we beg for help and for forgiveness."
- Lilldun Narguar, ecologist of Qu'tar

I made the drawing around 2 years ago and it took a long time to finish it. It's all pencils mixed with digital shading.

I did more pencil art like this in the past, but tbh the process was lengthy and it got more tiresome with each piece, so I took a break from pencils and started sketching with fineliners instead. Not being able to erase helped me to become faster and more accurate in general. So, maybe I'll go back to pencils again at some point, but for now fineliners are more fun to deal with! In the meantime I can post some of the old works in between x)

That's so cool love all the details!
Just the amount of wings you have drawn 😮 They look so thin and delicate, impressive work! The anatomy overall too! And neat to read more lore:D
Wicked, cool!
