Gay Fish

Kenji is a plecostomus! I finally decided on a pleco when I realized they can have markings that resemble his camo pants (plecos can have all sorts of dots, squiggles and almost leopard spots, they're very cute fish!). Thought it also fit him because they're pretty plain in color, being all neutrals to blend into the sand.
Yuki is a half-moon beta. This was long chosen for him, both for the theming and because betas are usually solitary fish, plus they can just be gorgeous colors - very MC coded. He's gotta learn to get along with everyone!
So seeing the post saying "he goes to a specific male guppy... and that male guppy always lets him" of COURSE my mind went to Kenjikoto. Just 'aw man, none of my flirting worked, all the girls ignored. At least my best bro Makoto will let me kiss him, he's cool and pretty.' (But they're fish!)
Bonus detail of Kenji going "fweet" is because in my mermaid AU Ryoji makes chirp-ish sounds, and Kenji is trying to mimic that sound. But Makoto makes clicking sounds, no chirps, so he's not understanding the words much.Aug 10, 2025
