Lightning Magic info
Part 2 of my in depth explanation on each type of magic in the "Of Feathers and Magic" universe. This post is about lightning magic, the physical magic type of the sky magics!Lightning magic is seen as the fastest and most powerful of the "physical" magics but is also notoriously hard to control for untrained individuals, therefore it is widley seen as the most unpredictable and dangerous magic. Despite this, with proper training a skilled caster can control the lightning with accuracy and speed, blazing through their opponents defenses with both power and precision. This takes a while to master, but if one does, their abilities are generally put to use as fighters on the battlefield, where their speed and power are utilized to the using side's advantage. The side effect of the magic is the user's feathers becoming home to static electricity for a few minutes after using their last lightning spell, which is due to them generating and harnessing the lightning around them while using the magic. While likely not going to cause lasting damage, the static electricity can still give any other bird a nasty shock if they come close or in contact with the user, so it is advised to stay away from a caster for until a few minutes after they last used the magic. The magic is most powerful when used on a conductor, such as metal and water, and least powerful when it is used on an insulator, such as wood.Aug 1, 2022
