Drawing buildings and stuff that's square (or any other shape) is so difficult
Anyone know of some good tutorials or hacks for things like houses, mailboxes, or just generally angular (?) stuff?
Or maybe I should just say background?
Any simple background tutorials?Aug 1, 2022

I personally try to create references like those myself if I can! When it comes to bigger things like buildings, you can try to recreate what you want with little boxes, take some pictures, & pick a picture to use for your reference! I once did this with a bridge & it worked out really well!
Angular stuff requires an understanding of perspective. So I’d try to look up some perspective tutorials on drawing cubes/rectangular shapes.
For something like a mailbox, you’d just draw a rectangular cube & then make the top rounded out.
I personally cannot recommend any specific tutorials since I learned how to do perspective in an in-person art class in high-school. But usually using image references for angular things will help! It’s a lot easier to draw a bunch of straight lines to make a mailbox than it is to copy an image of a horse!
I hope this helps!
