Champions of Hyrule ProcessI thought this would be a good example of my process, especially when creating a larger piece. I start in a sketchbook with some rough ideas, then I’ll trace my sketches to board (usually Bristol board - in this case 11*17 comic book Canson board). Once the pencils are finalized I’ll ink on top (not the most ideal as sometime I really like my pencils but by this point I’m tired of tracing my work
). Once inks are finished I scan the piece into Photoshop for colors. Pictured here are my flat colors. Then I’ll move onto shadows, highlight, reflected light, etc. And then you have the final piece. The nice thing about this process is I get a physical inked piece and a digitally colored piece… so it’s the best of both worlds
