I don't like that people make fandoms a competition either
I'm in one fandom server on discord, and someone's whole profile says "IM THE BIGGEST FAN" , they argue with people who says they are the number #1 fan, they intentionally buy like 10+ of every merch just so they can say they're the bigger fan bc they spent more money (which leaves no merch for anyone else to get) and it really sucks. Ntm how much money you spend on something doesn't mean how much you like it. It just means how much money do you have available to spend on this thing that isn't a necessity! U cant say someone who can't afford to buy 10+ of each merch item is less of a fan because they have to put that money towards bills and stuff... Eugh and people fight over headcanons and minor things and it's hardly enjoyable to be in fandom spaces anymore
