Sometimes it's not even then, it's the people around them
They use it as an excuse because they learned that it's a valid argument to be left alone because adults around them have been defending them simply because they are a minor
To me that's a real part of the problem that is not adressed enough

I agree, though you would be suprise on how many people close to that age still thinks like a 12 years old but with a little bit of more knowledge.
Though I do think that excuse should be okay to use when said 16-17 years old is being groom/harassed by an adult ://

i wouldn’t really call them “almost practically an adult”, but yeah, 16-17 year olds should definitely know better, and being a minor shouldn’t be an excuse at all

•Who even says that if it's not to someone harassing them. Like if you're in an argument and say "I'm a minor so you're wrong for arguing with me in the first place" you've already lost, that's such a lame excuse.
