Graphite or charcoal pencils?
For most of my life i used graphite pencils, they are less messy than charcoal ones and can be earased easily, so i prefer them for sketches for full drawings, but for dark shading or loose sketches i use charcoal beacuse you can get dark tones easily and they don't shine. For me they are both very different and have different uses, so i can't really decide. What about you?Dec 13, 2021

Graphite is easier for detail work but I personally like the value range that charcoal provides! Graphite also takes way longer and hurts my hand so I'm on team charcoal

•Depends what I’m doing, every art material has its ideal situation for use. I don’t find one better than the other. That said my current setup is not conducive to charcoal so I mostly do graphite
