Koikkara;Meaning: Devoid of love
The Koikkara siblings are orphans and were one of the few 'lucky' ones to end up in foster care.
At least that's what they were told they were. Lucky.
They didn't start out all together at first though. The girl, Ryoko, started out alone in her foster home until one day, the two brothers were brought in as well. Koikkara Ran and Koikkara Jounouchi.
Having been called a burden so much, she never wanted to feel like she was intruding on the brothers. But for some reason, seeing her in her loneliness (and with the mistreatment being done towards them by their caretakers), Jounouchi decided to take her in as his own younger sister. When they first met, Jounouchi was 13, Ran and Ryoko were both 5.
They were handed around a lot, but they managed to stick together somehow. All the while Jounouchi was counting down the days till he finally turns 18. When the day finally came, he wasted no time in claiming to be the legal guardian of both his younger siblings so that they wouldn't have to go through with not having a permanent home and having to deal with unreliable adults.
To be devoid of love may be in their family name but that don't mean they gotta live up to it. And Jounouchi made sure of that.
And here's a little short-ish summary of Ryoko and Ran's backstory along with their older brother. Jounouchi really just want his family to be happy. He's doing his best. One day I'll post up the comic that explains the scars they have. 8')Nov 23, 2020
