Sorry if this ruins anyone’s day, I just found out just now that Emman Atienza, a mental health advocate and influencer on TikTok had passed away from suicide. I want to acknowledge this because suicide is never, and never will never be the answer. I never did follow any of her content but it makes me so genuinely upset to see someone so young end their own life. She passed 3 days ago. Please tell your loved ones you care about them. depression can look like anything, and it’s important for people to realize that
people DO genuinely care about you.
I am absolutely horrified by the idea of death, for months now it has caused me nightmares, and there are certain things I can’t do anymore with the fear it will cause me a panic attack. Things as simple as going to certain areas of my city, or even watching certain movies. I have friends who have attempted suicide, and it is not only traumatic to witness myself, but it is beyond detrimental to the persons mental health. As a collective, we need to treat these people with support and compassion. I want to make it my mission to spread awareness about mental health struggles because not saying a word causes things like Emmans situation to increase.
I’m sobbing my eyes out typing this because I’m tired of things like this happening in our world and nothing being done about it.
Please remember to remind the people in your life that you care about them , depression can look like anything and everyone is fighting their own battles. You’re not alone.
Scars are just proof that you beat the hardest time in your life, keep being strong
