This is so silly, but when I was planning how to come out to my dad, I had ordered my graduation photographs for myself and some relatives, and thought of it as some kind of a meaningful signal. I felt that when he had got his and put it on display, I could talk to him about what everyone else in my family already knew, and if he'd do something like taking the photo of me down, that would mean that he doesn't love me, or that this info was difficult to receive, or he needs to take his time to think about it, or something. I remember when, in my graduation party, I had hugged and said hi to lots of relatives during the day, and when my dad arrived, I hugged him like I'd hug anyone, and I must've said something like, hello hello, thanks for the flowers, welcome. Well, then he didn't let go immediately, and I realized, oh, right, out of all these people, this is my father. "I'm proud of you", he said.
