DND UPDATE AND GENERAL UPDATE

All plans I had and have will be delayed and possibly not be put in progress. I will need time to process what happened in the last session of DnD.

. . .

Both Ailoton and Naedithas are no more, their lives will continue elsewhere, based on alternative universes while their part in the main campaign has ended.

The group split up. Ailoton has tried to convince the others to join him but they refused to. His curiosity, however, didn't stop for he (nor I) didn't expect to be caught in a dungeon.

Naedithas got possessed by a demon and turned his weapon against Ailoton and the other member who joined later on. Ailoton desperately tried to charm him and make him unconscious, only to heal him again by a potion. But his part in the world was cut short when he almost lost his entire strength in a single attack from his love. His attempt to stop him has failed.

"I always ... Wanted to be killed by your hands", he said, with a weakened, blood covered smile.

The words he meant, the words that were on his mind in that moment. Rather than to die by the weapon of an enemy, he was fine with the current. It was an honor. To die with him, it was an honor. Naedithas collapsed right next to him when the demon left him and gave him the final blow.

I still have untouched campaign scenes that I will draw but all of these are from past events. For now, I need time. For it was my fault that this has happened, a choice that I made as my character and it's not easy when you grew too attached, beyond your own expectations. Their ended in a beautiful, tragic way. But if I could do it over, I would have changed my course of action.

In my defense, Ailoton was not in his right mind, for the enemy has threatened him to meet them in the late evening and he might lose his life if he doesn't obey what they say. The party was aware of it, for he expressed it and they didn't respond. He's not as confident as he pretends to be, he's nothing but a man with a broken past, looking for acceptance and love that he never found until he and Naedithas got together. He felt complete, just like he does now as he is on the floor with Naedithas' hand in his.

__Side note__

In truth, only Naedithas has died. Ailoton was unconscious but everything happened so fast. If he were to be stabilized and would see his lover dead on the ground, he couldn't bear the sight and would either take his own life, beg the only other party member to take it from him, disobey the enemy and get murdered but no matter how it would go, he doesn't have the strength to move on with a broken story and his only light in the world gone.

He loves him, with all his heart. His soul is connected to Naedithas.

I made a deal with the DM to have it end like this for the both of them, who was convinced that this was a perfect moment for Ailoton his character development. Not realizing that everything of his cheerful attitude, his snarky remarks all come from his insecurity and loss in the world. He has nothing, no one and would have no reason to smile ever again. The DM wasn't pleased with the outcome. But I think he never met the love of his life, the only hope that makes one cling to someone like their life depends on it. He was convinced that it is a "package death", a mere excuse for their story to end to start with two new ones who will possibly follow their footsteps. It was a rude conclusion, for I need my characters to match reality. They fell for each other and made a pact. If one of them dies, the other will follow. They have little will to move on without the other and that is to be respected in both fiction and reality. Welcome to the world of psychology.

I refuse to roleplay a character with the urge to take his life, with the urge to stay behind and not to interact with anyone. A grieving character that will eventually put himself in danger. I am convinced that this end is beautiful. It is tragic and I think that both of them are worth this kind of death. I don't care what others will say.

They aren't dead, I tell myself. They are happy, together, in the afterlife. Their happy life will be lived elsewhere. Call it dramatic, call it denial, I call it love.

The story will start for Arvirin and Viiris but their story together will be adjusted. They are not allowed to have a connection from the start even if they are just strangers who helped each other. They will be strangers who meet in the land of the unknown. Soon, our session #0 will start, this Friday.

Thank you for reading. Apologies for the content. Sorry if there are any errors in my text, I won't correct these.

I am so sad to hear that this happened to you! Character deaths are awful. I have experienced that too and when you are so attached to a character the fact that dm thinks it didn't go the way he wanted is rude in my opinion. It is your character. Yeah, while having the option to die is realistic, dnd is still a story and a work of fiction. It goes where the player of the character wants it to go. And they deal with the death how they want.

All the love and energy for you! 💜
I'm still sad about it but, as I said, Shakespearean (and I totally get why you wouldn't play a grieving character that's constantly trying to die 👀)
Wow... It's tragic but like you've said... it's in a way, beautiful...

(me logging into Artfol for 'just a second' but getting sucked into this post and FEELING. Feeling so much 😩)
