i was doing research for a story because it is set in an alternate history, and I was like
yeah the us government would totally do that... OH THEY DID? LIKE FR?
and then I was like
THEY FUNDED THE FUCKING NAZIS???? EUGENICS WERE SO MUCH OF A THING IN THE STATES THAT GERMANY WAS LIKE HEH NICE IDEA AND THE US GAVE THEM MONEY FOR IT???????
and after the war they were like, no no our eugenics were completely different and had nothing to do with the Nazis stop calling it genocide it's not genocide
