Are you reading anything for fun right now? Im making a list.

I used to be an avid reader but my Depression gives me massive focus problems. I borrowed the same book twice now and have only read 25 pages. It's a good book, I just can't focus. Gonna keep trying until I hopefully finish it.

I’ve been in a reading slump since like 2017 but read some mangas and webtoons meanwhile and still do mostly on a weekly basis, but what got me back to reading more books again was the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini, that I just finished re-reading then I picked up Percy Jackson. I’m about to start the sequel to a Norwegian manga that just came out and also planning to read the first Moomin book that I own (Moomintrolls and the big flood by Tove Jansson) so for me I guess it’s helped to read some more childrens/pre-teen books or books I read in my childhood to get back into it, and manga and webtoons are also a great medium that might be an easier read if you can’t focus for a long time! It’s also the experience of following a series weekly that I like^^
I had some trouble re reading again after long too

The books that helped me most where "The importance of being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde and Alice in Wonderland ( the og book)

The importance of being Earnest is actually a play, written by Oscar Wilde, which make it a bit easier to read for me as it's closer to how a roleplay online would be written, and it's super funny

And Alice in Wonderland has some very good play on words and typographical uniqueness which helps when you have a short attention span because it's short and there is something new often
dude SAME i used to read like 100+ pages a day and now i can't get thru a paragraph without spacing out. some great books: to kill a mockingbird, little women, the phantom of the opera, song of achilles, circe, no longer human. if u want short reads, read some of the original grimm's/hans christian andersen fairytales -- 70% of them are extremely graphic/gorey but i used to be addicted to those at like age 10 so lol? some of my favorite mangas/webcomics are annarasumanara, promised neverland, unholy blood, pigpen, a silent voice, omniscient reader.
I’m reading “children of time” (fiction) and “beyond words” (nonfiction). Beyond words is about animal behavior and deconstructing the idea of ‘humans as the default life form’. It’s really interesting!
I am going through a collection of Lovecrafts stories, Dream journey to the unknown Kadath was especially beautiful, but kinda too descriptive
What if you read comics? It requires less focus, does it work better for you?
When brain doesn't juice, I mostly read tale compilations (Cortázar's tales, some of them are a page long) or nothing, I tend to drown in YT.

Right now, if proper diet, exercise, time in nature, moon, weather... brain juices right and I can read novels. I'm reading the weird stuff Camilo José Cela wrote in his last novels, I'm having to stop every few paragraphs and take a moment because... it's a lot 😳🤯😱💀🤢😵😵‍💫
The last Magnus chase book by Rick riordan
👍👍
Well I read manga when I have focus problems. Other wise ”Think Like a Munk” by Jay Shetty 😊
The Lunar Chronicles
Awe I get that tbh it is quite hard to get into reading when mentally exhausted so lots of luck! 😭 I am trying to get myself to read more, recently read “the King’s Cage” which is the third book of the Red Queen series and although I dislike the series I am so curious what will happen.

Tbh they don’t make books like they used to do before like Hunger Games etc😭
Ough i feel that, ive read like 4 books all the way through since middle school. There's books i Wanna finish/reread rn (house of leaves and the last days of jack sparks), i actually Am reading dorohedoro but thats a manga
