A lot of pencils just aren't that vibrant, so my favorite colored pencils are Farber castels polychromos.

•you can also consider using some turpenoid or other synthetic turpentine. dip a qtip in it and then apply it to the surface, gently coloring back over what you've already done. what it does is melt the wax you've laid down and smooths it out, making it fill in the little spaces in the paper where the wax from the pencils may not have filled in. it will also blend or smudge the colors some so i recommend practicing with it to get a feel for how it works before you use it on a piece. however you can also use more pencil on top of it afterwards so i often blend with the turp and then color more and then blend and then color... until i get the area the way i want.

•I think its the brand you're using but for me im using the cheap ones so i could cover it with some edits on the lighting. For me making it really bright there's nothing else you could do rather than making it the area around is darker i think

•It may be beacuse of the brand of your pencils. If you press your pencils really hard on the paper and they are still not bright enough just buy new, better ones.
