I recommend looking at a bunch of manga and copying pages, I personally learned a lot comparing how different artists draw the boxes! Also noting the content inside the boxes, whether it's just background or characters or text etc.
To me, I think the one eye of the guy is a little confusing. I would probably make a panel with both of his eyes showing
to make it even more clear he's the one thinking, maybe try writing the text in the same panel as the eyes?
