Since my story includes immortality, I thought I'd share a bit of how it works!
Immortality is not common at all, there are only a 0.5% of (born) immortals.
There are also 3 official levels of immortality.
Level 1 - mortal people who became immortal, they CAN still die in a unnatural way, they just stop aging.
Level 2 - born immortal, they age physically and mentally, they still can get sickness and other health issues.
Level 2 immortals usually have a little mark on their forehead.
Level 3 - born immortals, they stop aging physically and mentally at some point, but they never know when will happen. They make a 0.1% of population. They CAN'T get sick nor any health issues. They're like a "perfect" human being.
There are immortals 2.1, which are mortals TURNED into immortals by Level 3 immortals.
This CAN'T always happen, since level 3 immortality still very unknown for people.
Two mortals can have a immortal child, but two immortals can't have a immortal child.
This happens randomly, you'll never know if the child will turn immortal or not.
While immortality became "natural" at some point, no one really knows from where it came from.
The biggest believe is that it came after all the experiments that has been done to different people.
Level 2 & 3 immortals are usually used and seen as lab rats, while level 1 immortals are praised.
There's an island somewhere in the Pacific ocean which is used to experiment with immortals.
A lot of people "donates" and straight up sales their family members since they're very pricey.
807.560€ to 1.089.456€ for a level 2 immortal.
And from 2.908.320€ to 3.190.879€ for a level 3 immortal.
Another thing is that level 3 immortals can re-grown body parts, while level 2 can't.
While NOT all immortals ends up in this island, probably a 0.3% of the immortal population is in there.
Both Neron Phoenix and Jack Nero are level 3 immortals (I wanted to give a different perspective of how it would be to be one)
While Neron Phoenix is PROTECTED by the Russian government due to being a Kudryavtsev (one of the most important families of Russia) and considered a "God."
Jack Nero has to hide that he's immortal since he's threatened to be sold.
It doesn't matter if you're sold by people who aren't your family, if you're immortal, you're more of an object, not a person.
(Literally a kind of human trafficking, but this one is protected by law and the government.)
Neron could proudly share being immortal, while others could end up randomly disappearing.
And yes, there are a lot of movements that wants to stop these atrocities, Neron Phoenix is pretty active in those and is always donating to those.Oct 21, 2023

I was about to say that's a very lot price for a human, but then I realized there are still milloins of immortals, so that checks out
