I wanna draw cool city backgrounds but I suck so much, human-made things are just so hard to draw for me for some reason

Absolutely agree. I used to live in a huge city and I want to capture its likeness... but I'm so bad at it.

I also struggle with drawing human made things. I just avoid it or draw them in fantasy style or my own style, little more organic. More matching my inner world.

I can relate big time
I think it’s all the hard angles and precise shapes that look wonky if you don’t draw rhem right. I’ve found for cities that using perspective tools helps a lot but other than that I find it very tricky

•Okay so I draw city backgrounds for quite a few pictures and here's a tip start by drawing a bunch of gray or black rectangles than think hmm what iconic skyline do I want for this city and take into consideration that a skyline for a city is all the tallest (and by extension most famous) buildings in that city at first keep it tame like black than ad small yellow rectangles inside each building to look like windows try this with a few different pictures than try adding detail and if you want ad lore and a purpose for each building or skyscraper for instance if you make an iconic looking silhouette for a skyscraper you could than go and think what happens inside who owns it when was it built that kinda thing anyway I hope this helps

•My cool hack for this is use blender (a free 3D software on desktop computers) and put basic shapes together and draw over them, it’s not cheating if you made your own model!
