Do I really have to mass produce art on a schedule every week to grow my audience? I mentally and physically am unable to do so. But it's frustrating how my following count isn't going up on any of my socials.Mar 12, 2021

Artfol is a bit of a special place, since it's not as wormed trhu by algorithms as Facebook or Instagram or Twitter, so here - no, others - yes; that is that you need to provide CONTENT, which is not necessarily art. Especially with ig it's more that you post content and that you post content of the newest sort (at the moment: reels) that will make the algorithm favor you, and other platforms work similar. So you don't necessarily have to upload a finished piece every day! On the contrary, on ig it's probably more helpful to upload short vids to reels of yourself sketching or studying pics or working on something than just posting a single pic. As long as it's

•To post consistently is not really "you need to post a 100% finished piece". The only artists I see do this already have a very simplified style and can put all their effort since art is their job.
Snapshots, sketches, lineart, studies, anything drawn you should have the confidence to post and this will be a part of consistently posting. This is a common method artists use and it can work. Archiving sketches is always an option for Instagram and Artfol, Twitter pushes it down eventually, and there are a lot of other social media to gain reach you can add.
Not all artists are capable of simply having art as their only job. With artists that want this to be their full-time job one day, a disciplined schedule is needed to make sure you can be financially stable and still make time to help your dreams.
As disruptedlights says, it takes time and a lot of effort (almost too much). Keep on trying and fiddle with possibilities on when and what to post, be social and put yourself out there.

I don't think posting everyday here will work just as instagram, since consistency does not let your art appear on the trending. Everything here is chronological except trending, and trending is based on engagement alone. Once that engagement stops the artwork will go lower then finally disappears. What you can do here is simply to connect with people. Give an impression, connect with likeminded artists. Here it's more genuine and even relaxing, and people don't unfollow you right away just because you didn't post for a month. So for me, I believe the rule of thumbs is: you get what you give. Give support, get support. It's also important to remember to always improve your art; it's the number 1 factor, while also remembering to draw for yourself :) Lastly, growing an account takes time, and it's not healthy to always blame it on the app (but it's okay to blame instagram tho, that horrid place 
). Just keep going. The only time it becomes too late is during your last breath. Hope this helps :)
