Fae and Lane as Romeo and Juliet (platonic version with superpowers)

During one of the missions as Shadow Helpers Fae had to revive someone, so she was on a two-month break, as usual, when she was called and heard the news: Lane had passed away. Fae was devastated, Lane was dead? She couldn't revive him since she had used her power recently, Did that imply that Lane was gone forever? No, Fae couldn't allow herself to think about that, the very idea of living without her friend destroyed her inside, but then what would she do? She sat down to think and consider options and soon realized that nothing in itself prevented her from reviving Lane, yes, she would die in her place, but what did it matter if the other option was to live in constant suffering? Is it life if one is dead inside? With a still flanking determination she went to the place where Lane's body was, as soon as possible because she knew she was going against the clock, and between tears all doubt was finally dispelled when she saw the remains, and decided to revive him, thus making the most important decision of her life and also the last one.
Lane then wakes up, and instinctively looks for Fae, they know that she has to be there, because despite not remembering what happened in detail, that bitter taste in her mouth lets them know that, once again, they had a waltz with death. But there's no one there but him, and a pile of ashes, which someone soon comes in to collect, but not before introducing himself - although Lane didn't hear his name, he didn't care - and giving the bad news: Fae was dead, the pile of ashes was her, who had evaporated by concentrating all the energy on reviving him. Lane was stunned for a few seconds, in which frustration choked her, and began to cry to release the pain from her, and soon found herself screaming too, although nothing would alleviate the inner emptiness that had just been generated within her.
As the days passed, their mind began to drown with this overwhelming murria, getting worse, a tree disappeared, the water of a pool overflowed and flooded a house, extinguishing the warm flame of the fireplace, the rain of this storm it was too strong to process, and the water mixed up the memories, bringing out some things that should have stayed in the depths [clarification: Lane's mind is a house, with a pool and a tree in the yard,, the tree represents friendship with Fae, and like any good tree helps absorb rain from storms, sadness in this case, i meantioned this in the discord seever but not here] Those horrible memories that no mortal should know, that could not even be conceived in the imagination of a disturbed mind, the intriguing feeling of dying - in a certainly not peaceful way -, is what resurfaced from between the depths of the subconscious, a pain that was hidden because the mind is fragile and unable to process it.
Slowly Lane began to lose all sanity that had ever existed, and unable to process the sadness, he turned it into anger and resentment towards the other heroes and himself, how come no one stopped Fae? Why did they let her trade her life? hers was the most valuable, she didn't deserve such a tragic fate, instead he was a burden, constantly needing her to live, they should have let him die in peace, or is it that they hadn't stopped Fae because they see the act of sacrifice as normal? If so, why is a hero expected to sacrifice themselves? Why do they let it happen? Why is the sacrifice of one life for another seen as acceptable? She didn't deserve it, she didn't deserve it, she didn't deserve it, SHE DIDN'T DESERVE IT. They repeated that internal monologue constantly, always coming to the conclusion that maybe the world would be better without heroes, that they deserved to face justice for letting Fae sacrifice herself, what kind of monster sees someone heading for death and doesn't do anything about it? She deserved justice and they were going to get it, for her. They were going to destroy the heroes, the system that continues to generate them, although it will take them a few years, that would be their goal from now on.
