Howdy my unhydrated fish, it is I, the massive frog in your pond, here to ask another question for the day:
How did you start drawing? And how old were you? Was there something you were obsessed with drawing when you were younger?
I drew since I can remember (I think all kids needed to draw in kindergarden lol). In kidergarden I really loved to draw horses. I was obSeSsed, as well as my best friend. She also knew how to draw very well, much better than me. I think she had a pretty big influence on me. (we're still frnds btw, I just live far away ;-;)

I started drawing horses on the wall when I was 6 or smth my parents weren't mad. I don't really remember but I draw a pic of Barbie on a A3 paper together with my mom and I guess it turned out well. When I was introduced anime the first time like 9 yrs old I got really into it. I drew a manga with my sister and sketched countless anime girls on paper. It definitely was a step to where I am now and I will continue to draw passionately till I die.

•I started drawing when I was in 3rd grade? I was obsessed W my little pony and I started to draw them all the time but I only started to take art seriously in the 6th/7th grade. I think I started to take it srsly cz I rlly enjoyed drawing n I wanted it to be my job?? And that was also abt the time I got into anime and that also inspired me a lot. :D

•i always drew to pass the time and on the corners of papers, filling them up. I started to draw passionately after turning 7 and got actually art supplies after 9 and now after 14 years I draw actual art in many mediums for me and for others and plan on selling them online after my 16th birthday :)

•I liked to draw when I was very young but never seriously. There was a kind of daycare thing I'd go to after primary school and if there weren't any friends to play with, I'd draw most of the time. I thought drawing was hard and didn't put too much effort into it to make it look good as I got older. I started taking it seriously when I was 12 and finished a physic's test early. I was allowed to do something until the others were finished so I tried to draw my favourite Pokémon Espeon and Umbreon. They looked HORRIBLE and I was SHOCKED because I thought after being obsessed with Pokémon since I can read I could remember what they look like and drsw them properly. When I got home I tried it again with a reference and it looked so much better. I decided I needed to learn how to draw, simply for the purpose of drawing Pokémon. And now I am here.

•Like any child might, I drew terrible blob monsters and proudly labeled them 'Mommy' when they more closely resembled eldritch horrors.
I was very into Warriors as a kid, so I remember drawing the cats. I loved drawing animals from how to draw books, eventually gaining some semblance of skill as I drew sea creatures from a science book I loved. I was probably around twelve when I started taking it more seriously. My turning point was when I drew a thresher shark from that book and I actually drew it well, and accurately... And I was like
okay, I'm an artist now
I'd never really stopped drawing in my life, but I don't think I ever considered myself an artist till that point, and I dived in with joy after that. Carrying sketchbooks everywhere and drawing many a shark
Another turning point was when I got a how to draw dragons book, from NeonDragonArt. I still remember some of those lessons
I loved that book.
Yet another turning point, and my favorite one, was in 2015 I believe, my mother and I went to Disney land, and in one of the gift shops, there was a book... Called the Wildlife of Star Wars - illustrations by Terryl Whitlatch. I loved that book. I referenced the drawings from that book and felt so good about my art. Felt confident in my ability to imitate both style and form it was easy for me, and so not frustrating that it just felt cathartic. That was my senior year of high school.
It wasn't actually until the next year thst I actually focused on practicing people instead of animals and dragons. Because I started taking my writing and worldbuilding and stories more seriously, I had to learn how to draw humans so I could draw my OCs and situations from my stories :)
Ironically, I'm having to teach myself how to draw animals again now because drawing animals without direct reference is freaking hard
Being so relient on copying from references really set me back in my art journey, but I feel like these last few years I've been getting the hang of it more ^^ latter 2020 was actually really good for my art and confidence thanks Artfol! This app has helped me a LOT

•actually, my response is the same as yours i drew since early childhood, and i was obsessed with drawing anything resembling horses (mythological too). zebras, giraffes, antelopes, deer, anything that's horse like hehe. when i was 13 years old, i became very interested in drawing cartoons specifically, which got me interested in animation. i decided to draw 'professionally' only a year ago, when i was 17, the same summer that i applied to an art school and got in. it was a pretty wild summer. but before then i only expected it to be a hobby :') that's all!

•Dont know when I started drawing tbh, I did it so much and was always complemented on being an artist. But I remember drawing people a lot and getting complements on my drawings of people.

•Genuinely I've been drawing since before I could remember, though I didn't get serious about it til middle school really. I liked drawing My Little Pony as a kid and tracing some of my manga panels actually really helped me figure out how proportions worked

I’ve always been somewhat known as the “art kid”, but I kinda slacked off of drawing for a few years. Then in fall 2019, my parents got me a tablet and I found out that being a good digital artist was actually quite hard, and my ego could not handle being bad at art, so I started drawing again :)

•I started drawing since 11 years ago(when I was 3 years old) then I kept drawing none stop and I am still doing that till now! Movies,games, cartoon and anime were my first inspirations but currently still having inspiration from the same sources but with other artists I find in social media!
