None tbh- it's not that I dislike DTIYS,, it's just that I can't help that it completely disinterests me. I prefer to draw a picture with a rich story within it, involving characters I love who have an intriguing development. In most DTIYS, the element of creative storytelling is neglected because the point of DTIYS is to have something aesthetically pleasing and easily adaptable into many peoples' art styles. When I draw a picture with no real meaning to it, I feel dull and disinterested and like I am wasting my time (unless it is of my or someone else's OC that I know a lot about). But I do really like the camaraderie and sense of community that happens in peoples' DTIYS, and I think it's a great opportunity to be seen by the artist you look up to.
Like the concept of a dtiys or the things you can do with it?

Idk I like when people draw their ocs, the most common are cute girls and either neon colors or pastel ones, I don’t really care about that too much as long as it looks cool and easy to draw, like if it doesn’t look intimidating with complex pose or design it usually gets pretty popular

I kinda got scared of them since some people started complaining that doing a dtiys was like asking for free fanart? Which it’s true but not at the same time? Idk I don’t get that discussion but it’s there (bet it started on twitter, idk tho)
I don’t get it

Oh and without deadline it’s way better, you don’t feel that pressure
And prices are also nice, it’s like an art trade in some sort
