Mysterious Sun
Two minutes. It has been two minutes since she left the room through the only accessible door as she heard a scream and a loud bang. Her small hand reached for her herbal staff as she looked at the door baffled. The dimensional doors have been looked, broken or obstructed since four years at this point. Unconsciously she shook her head and continued grinding the herbs she freshly picked in the greenhouse.
A strong wind hit the wooden door seperating the hallway from the center room. Again the young woman looked over her shoulder. "In the name of the Four. Did I not close the window?" The grinder was quickly abandoned and she made her way with quick tapping steps towards the door. It was shut. Maybe even locked. She shook her head again. Her golden earrings shimmered in the sunlight coming through a big window behind her. But as she turned to pick up her work again the small woman suddently stopped. "Who locked-" her voice was faint as she spun around. Now almost running she faced the door again. It was still locked. With all her might she jumped against the door repeatedly. But the door did not move. Annoyed she pressed her hand against the lock and mumbled some inaudible words. The lock clicked. The door moved.
The woman sighed and rushed to the center room. All doors were closed as expected. Noone was there. As expected. But as she turned to leave relieved, she heard a sound from across the room. Behind the spiral staircase in the middle was something lying on the ground. And it grew in size.
Slowly the woman made her way to the thing. A black mass lay there completely still but spreading out on the ground. She suddently stopped. Squinting her eyes she looked at whatever it was and - "RAPHAEL!" she frantically screamed now running to the thing in front of her. Her bare feet touched something wet as she dropped to the ground next to it. Her hands reaching out, turning the warm black mass over. She looked right in the face of an unconscious man covered in blood. "RAPHAEL!" she screamed over her shoulder again now more panicked than before. "Pulse... not breathing" she mumbled.
Steps on the staircase rushed down and a young man swung around the stair railing. He looked at his disciple with horror. Her formally yellow dress was covered in dark red blood as she held pressure to a shoulder wound of the unknown man lying on the marble floor.
