Now that I think about it, the white area does have more of a lilac tint than white.

yeahh i’ve seen the dress as both white/gold and blue/black before!! the white definitely has a blueish lilac tint :D

I can see the lilac / gold or dark brown color. I think people say white/gold because they think of it as a white in a cold dark shade! Which tends to look actually LILAC. So I totally see it that way too
