I guess I'm approachable.
I was on my way to meet an old friend when someone tapped my arm. I stopped sketching and they asked in a thick accent if the bus we were on went to a certain station (it stops by 3 stations) so I asked for their phone that was on the bus route page. Then, I told them if they wanted to go to their destination, they should get off at the last station as the subway ride would be shorter.
In the station, someone else came up to me asking which side of the platform was northbound.
It seems every time I go out, elders start sharing their life story with me, lost kids borrow my phone to call parents (somehow, twice this year), newcomers ask for directions and dogs like to sniff me out. I honestly don't know what type of vibe I give off with my masked face and usually all-black scheme but it's kind of nice to think how I view myself is different from others' view.Jul 16, 2023
