Do you use multiple layers for your lineart, if yes, how many? Do you color it?

I'll eventually merge them all into one line layer, but while working, I make new layers like a DnD player collecting dice. I think on average my lines, flats, and shadows hit like 30 layers before I finish tinkering and adjusting them down to 3 or 4 (depending on the piece)

•oh hell yea if i have lineart that i want to be flowing but i know intersects with something (usually hair) i’ll put it on a separate layer until it’s done. OR i’ll keep a busy pattern or fiddle details on a separate layer always so it doesn’t interfere with flatting colors

Sometimes when I know what I’m drawing, I use 3 lineart layers for head - body - clothes, but if I’m unsure of how to draw something, I have layers for every single part of the character LMAO

I usually use multiple layers while I'm figuring out what the character will look like and once I'm comfortable with the overall design, I'll merge some layers but usually still keep a few.

Yes, but I'm trying to get out of the habit of doing so since I'm starting to use vector layers and an eraser which makes making mistakes less aggravating. The only times I make separate layers is when there's another character + their eyes on a separate layer
And yeah, I try to recolor it if I can! Ofc that itself will make me duplicate my layers just in case I fuck up

•Hi! I use from 1 to 3 layers to lineart, depending on the background complexity or, for example, if it's a comic or an illustration. Once I'm done with it, I merge all the lineart layers in one

•I normally only use one but I'm also primarily a traditional artist so when I switch to digital art I have a hard time switching my brain off from "ride or die" mode and often end up reworking tons of things on a single layer like I would work traditionally instead of just...utilizing the tools that allow me to not do that. Oh dear...

•I use around 3 to 0 layers per drawing. But here’s the thing.... I use the same layers to also draw new art prices so the canvas sizes are all the same..... it’s not a good idea to store art work..... but it’s not been a problem yet

•When I line, I usually have two layers: finished lineart and lineart I’m still working on (so I could easily erase or resize it without harming lineart I’m happy with) and I periodically transfer those lines to the finished line layer.
I usually don’t recolor my lines, I don’t like how it looks with my art style but I think it’s cool when other artists do it.

oh man i make a layer for almost every element in lineart 
i think on average i use abt 10-12, i color my lineart cuz pretty colors lol

•I have lots of layers also mostly around 8 ish I usually merge most of them together at the end and then recolor them

I use around 3 lineart layers per character. I usually don’t colour, both because I like the black outline and because it’s a pain to look back on which lineart parts are on which layer...
