Sketch exercises
One of my favorite little challenges I give myself is blind drawing.Basically you are only allowed to look at your reference (you cannot look at what you are drawing at all) and your sketch can only be one line.
After I do the quick line drawing (they are supposed to look hilariously bad) I do a 10ish min sketch as normal.
The blind sketch helps me really look at the references. It builds confidence to break down the ref so I better understand it.
So I did 3 different birds (because I love raptors and crazy lookin feathers.)
Hopefully y’all can see the smaller 1 line sketch. They made me laugh so hard.Jun 10, 2022
