WikiPatch lolHand embroidered this patch for my jacket, because I love Wikipedia
Ofc, like everything you read online, wikipedia isn't guaranteed to be 100% up-to-date factually accurate for every single thing on the site..... but I often find that those who discount it's entire collection as garbage because "anyone can edit it" have a very pessimistic view of other people. (Which often ties into whatever weird conspiracy theory they're promoting which can easily be debunked by wikipedia alone but whatever lol)
In truth, the astringent editing protocols enacted by its userbase are pretty sturdy, and because every source is cited, wikipedia is a great starting point for lots of different research. I've heard some interviews with various board members and a lot of the difficulties that wikipedia has come from English-centric language barriers making it harder to get good sources for non-english wiki articles (esp in regards to climate issues) but that sort of issue isn't inherent to wikipedia, but rather another problem from the English focus to many fields of study worldwide.
