Tldr: group of friends start playing minecraft on a server together, start adding more people and a storyline to it, it becomes a massive roleplay world with an overarching story

Lolll it’s literally just youtubers and streamers that play minecraft, but the most popular ones at the moment have a story and have actual characters they play so a lot of people like to draw art of scenes or things that happen. At the start of the story there was this thing about this guy and discs so it’s a part of his character. I hope that helped a little??
