Nah screw red and green flags. What’s a piece of media that’s a yellow flag for you? Like basically “ok it’s not inherently bad if you like it but…choose your words wisely and I’m weary of you” if that makes sense.Nov 20, 2023

Christians. I'm sorry to all the actually sweet and wholesome Christians out there. I've seen and heard so much shit from so many toxic Christians that at this point I just get paranoid the moment someone mentions they're Christians cuz it's such a 50/50. They're either super chill and probably the coolest giga chads out there, or they're gonna tell me that I'll go to hell for simply existing.

Honestly, for me it’s my hero academia. I was super into the show years ago and I loved it, a part of me still does, but so much of the fandom is so gross. Everything from proshippers, to the people who sent death threats to horikoshi because he made a writing choice they didn’t like, idk I’ve interacted with wayyy too many weirdos from that fandom I’m always a little apprehensive whenever I meet someone who’s into it. I guess that could be said about a lot if canvases but my hero sticks out to me personally

•Any fighting games imo
The majority of their playerbases tend to alienate newcomers with the crude “get gud” while the actual “gud” players are rare and more supportive, helpful and patient.

•Gonna have to say, as a fan of the game, genshin :/ the community can be sooooo 5050 that I'm scared of interacting with people in game

•Honestly, Marvel and Star Wars. I love both medias and I definitely have my own strong opinions about them but some people I the fandom are gross/they genuinely scare me. Like you can not like a piece of media/part of the story but don’t be sending people death threats, like seriously, grow up.

as a hannibal fan myself, im def gonna have to say hannibal. some of the fandom romanticizes the toxicity a little too much. but also a lot of the fandom is able to acknowledge how unhealthy and toxic it is and just appreciate the story.

also agree w/ elumiie, but i have my reasons. what ur seeing is the loud + annoying minority -- most people in the fandom hate them too. there have been many times where fans have called out on bs. how the actual CCs respond is another issue -- dream is notorious for enabling antagonistic behavior, but most other CCs are great at accountability. lots of people who are dsmp fans do not like dream & his fans, as well as more recently, CCs who used to be close friends with him (he's beefed with like 10 people in the past 3 months it's crazy)
dream fans + die-hard dsmp stans are bright red flags, but the majority in the fandom are normal people trust

•hot take but harry potter. i think it's fine to like it/reminisce on reading it as a good childhood memory, but it's the weird people who will support jkr to the pits of hell nowadays that make it off-putting
•
•Gacha life and K-pop
ppl from those fandoms are either the nicest ppl you’ll ever meet or the worst ones ever

The witcher, I really like the games and the story but the books are quite sexist, so Im more weary with the book fans because they could be weird…..

•Honestly? The bible fandom
I'm Christian myself but when I see other Christians online I'm always like... are you the chill kind or the you'll-go-to-hell-if-you-dont-find-god-kind
