My two girls are in love with Totoro since they watch the movie with us, so I've decided to make this mixed media embroidery as a gift for my older daughter's birthday in a month!
When I saw this printed jute at my dollar store, I instantly fall in love with it. I thought it will be perfect for this project. I wanted to embroider directly on it at first, but I was afraid the result wasn't good due to the large holes of the fabric, that's why I've used felt.
I have wrapped the hoop in an organza ribbon, I love the little touch of green and white dots!
For the final touch, I've choose this little braided rope with leaves. And yesterday, completely by chance, I found these cute little bouquets of berries!
I've also put a piece of printed cardboard at the back, it has gold dandelions on it. They are barely visible unfortunately, but it adds a little shiny touch.
I'm really pleased with the final result, so I hope my daughter will love it too
