I watched When Marnie Was There and uhh it certainly was something. The only way I can explain it is that Marnie is a Gilf and Anna is most definitely gay.
I loved the concept so much but I really couldn’t get past the fact that

!!Spoilers!!

It seemed Anna had a crush on her,, grandma. Plus she was a really unlikeable character in general. I mean she literally called a girl who was just trying to be nice a fat pig and didn’t seem to feel bad, even if she offered a half ass apology.
I feel like if it was a story about Sayaka moving into a new house and finding the diary of the girl who used to live there and started to dream about it and then met her grand daughter and they became friends and relieved Marnie’s romance with her husband together and became cottagecore lesbians as they grew up, it would’ve been so much better story wise. OMG YES WHEN MARNIE WAS THERE AAAAA I LOVE THIS!!

I loved the concept too! it was very interesting and confused me at first :0 I've only watched it once and that was quite a while ago so I should probably watch it again to give a better opinion!! I've actually been procrastinating to rewatch it this week ;-; I also agree with u at the end with how u wished the story is like!!
