This is soooo so real. This is how I've been feeling with someone for a long time. We used to be best friends and chat every day and video call regularly. Then she kept distancing herself more and more, taking days, then weeks, then months to reply to my texts. At first she'd say it's only because she's in her last year of high school and that was so stressful, but it's been like this for years now. I've tried communicating how our dynamic changed too but she denied it. At some point I just had to accept we weren't friends anymore. At least not close friends.
I'm very grateful to have some other friends though who don't leave me hanging. Sometimes times like this make you appreciate who your true friends are, who really wants to hang out with you or share their life with you. That doesn't mean it doesn't hurt like a bitch tho. I experienced real heartbreak when I realised that friendship wouldn't ever go back to how it was :/ friendship breakups are no joke, they can hurt just as much as romantic ones (even if it's not one "fight and break up" thing but gradual changes and being ignored for long periods of time). You're not alone with this experience :( <3 I hope it works out for you and your friends, but if it doesn't, I'm wishing a bunch of better friends onto you rn

•If you have gotten to that stage, you really should talk to them how you feel and be direct with them about it. And if they do the whole “sorry” act and still continue with not fixing their ways, it’s best to walk away. You want friendships where both parties put the effort, care, love and time into each other.
A friendship should never feel that way or be one-sided where you are putting in the effort into the relationship.
