I like to draw on procreate but I've been trying to venture out and try new programs. I recently downloaded adobe photoshop and illustrator but is completely new at it. For people who uses those two programs to draw, how did you learn how to use them? Please list any recommendations for books, sites, or videos.Apr 20, 2021

Try and error, and a bunch of random tutorials. Honestly tho, I wouldn't use PS or Illustrator for art, there are much better programs to draw, that don't cost at least 240€ EVERY YEAR. I wouldn't use them at all if I wasn't forced to. They are not worth it, especially if you're not making big money with your art.

•i honestly just went at it mostly blind and experimented with a lot of the features, googling as i went. what helped me improve drastically tho is downloading a bunch of different free brush packs so i didn’t have to only work with the default basic brushes

•When I first started using Photoshop, tutorials were definitely needed, so step-by-step tutorials are the best bet for getting started with it.

•I was super young and I bought a book called Photoshop for Dummies LMAO. they’ve probably come up with newer editions of it but honestly, I’d really recommend just starter videos on YouTube and playing around with the app via experimentation, like being in a starter stock image and just click random things or follow along with a tutorial step by step.
