I'm freaking out. I was so excited when I was told I was able to start college early during high school but this is too much. I'm only 15. I don't know what to do. My high school work is enough as it is and with college work on top of it it's unbearable. I'm terrified I really wasn't ready for this but I cant do anything now because I don't want to disappoint my parents anymore. I don't want to be a doctor. I don't see my art going anywhere professional. Me and my parents have always had a clear plan for my future but now that I'm finally starting to get somewhere with my life I'm suddenly lost. I have no idea if I even want to do college. There's just so much pressure on me from my counselors, parents, and myself to just suck it up and not screw up my future but it's not like I have another choice since my future's already been decided I can't just mess up the plans now but I'm already falling apart and I haven't even graduated 10th grade yet I don't know what to do I really don't want to be a doctor but I really don't want to disappoint my parents I'm just so overwhelmed right nowDec 17, 2021

And think of it this way, if you're stressed and overworked rn it will be worse and you can't do well in those classes if you feel this way. There's no use in taking them if you're going to fail and not do well bc it's too much. You are always allowed to drop optional classes. Talk to your counselor at school about how you're feeling. There is more to your future development than work. Self care and self exploration and relationships need to fit into that schedule.
Don't do it. Your parent's opinions don't matter. Don't worry about disappointing them. The only person's opinion you have to worry about is your own. Know your limits. If it's too much. It's too much. At 15 you should be focusing on being a teen, enjoying your time and finding yourself. Invest in your development. Colleges do not give a flying fuck if you try to do classes early plus you have tons of time your senior year when you get your cores done to use your extra credits towards that. It's awesome that you can, that's an achievement in itself. Stay firm. Listen to your gut. Stop doing so much. You are right. You are only 15.
I understand how that feels. Was in the same position. In the end, I finished my bachelor, started the masters and lasted for a few months when eventually I dropped out. I was so scared what my parents would say, but when I asked them, they went: why didn't you tell us and drop out sooner? You could've spent all that time useful and studied/worked somewhere you actually wanted. So, yeah. I have a degree and I can wipe my ass with it, but good news next year I'm starting at a college I choose myself. So there's hope. You can always quit and start anew.
