I want to get lost in a dreamNaNoWriMo Excerpt 12: Forgot to post yesterday because I was hella tired and my writing had 0 interesting parts. So I'll explain a bit about the world instead.
The main setting is Benedict Sinclair University, which is the only place in this world with confirmed supernatural activity. It is home to three types of creatures, which correspond to a part of the underworld.
-Malleus (plural: Mallei): There are nine of them. They correspond to Heaven.
-Spirit: There are seven of them. They correspond to Purgatory.
-Demon: The exact number of them is unknown. Witches can only form contracts with the nine most powerful demons, which are called the Accusations. They correspond to Hell.
NaNoWriMo Excerpt 13:
A humanoid figure emerged from the shadows. She was wearing a black dress with a long train that was burning at the edges. A pair of horns stuck out of her veil and twisted around each other.
"I am Chastity," she said.
She stood up straight, revealing a skull-like face. However, the upper part of her face looked like it had been ripped out. An apple sat in the opening, which was covered by curved metallic bars. Her mouth gaped open; a black snake with red eyes was coiled inside.
Kay's heart beat faster. Though the room was unbearably hot, she shivered.
"Are you afraid of me?" Chastity asked. The snake's mouth moved as she spoke. It slithered out and tilted its head, as if inquisitive.
Kay didn't know how to answer. She stumbled back a few steps, but her legs were becoming weak.
"There is no need to be," Chastity said as she approached. She reached out a skeletal hand. "I am here to help you, penitent."
She grabbed Kay's face and tilted it up. Her touch was colder than ice.
"Why did you call me that?" Kay asked, her voice shaking.
"Penitent? What else would I call you? You are here because you bear...a certain burden on your heart. While it is my duty to help you relieve it, I can only do so if you cooperate with me."Nov 14, 2020
