I'm really curious to know what everyone's art related pet peeves are 🤔Jun 23, 2022

When a dragon’s wing membranes don’t connect to the body at all... like mannnn how do they fly like that 😭
Those goddamn images that art “tutorials” that are like:
Step 1:draw a circle
Step 2: draw the rest of the entire eye
I'm sorry to people who do it, but those eye spike things for the bottom lashes. I think it just bothers me because the white of the eye goes into it idk ¯\(ツ)
People, stop saying using references is cheating. THEY'RE NOT. How else are we supposed to know how to draw certain things if we don't look it up, especially for beginners? The majority of us don't have photography memory.
People who end up drawing bigger characters skinny.

People who draw older characters like they’re young (& they’re actually supposed to be like 40-50+ & they have 0 wrinkles).

The first two tend to happen because of inexperience of drawing fat or wrinkles, so they’re more forgivable/understanding as to why it looks that way.

And anyone who draws illegal art, get some help, man. It bothers me for reasonable reasons (AKA usually a lack of consent because it’s a child or animal or something.)

And drawing pet peeves are just when I get stuck on a drawing or can’t figure out a character’s colors!
well... it's EVERYTIME i get used to digital and then going back to traditional again 😤 i kept touching the paper to undo, zoom, etc. as if it's my phone screen lmao
Hmm, one thing that I could think of at the top of my head on the moment are the kind of artworks where the ruler feature is used entirely, and I mean "entirely." Head to toe, left and right-- all symmetrical. Idk, ig it's understandable though since most beginner artists tend to do this (it's basically a part of their exploration in art.) But yeah, I still find some of them... a bit unnerving (no offense, huhu.) TwT)💦
Idk how to explain this but, the head is positioned wrongly, like the neck is placed forward
I'd say animal ears on the top of the head instead of at the side, where the ear canals actually are. Bonus points of they have human AND animal ears lmao
(Disclaimer: draw what you want, if you want to draw cat ears at the top of someone's head, don't let me stop you!)
Probably when the artist gets too lazy to pick a good font and just goes for Arial for lettering
