Metanoia
So this was my big art final featuring my oc David :D the main idea was that I had to make six identical art books using the process of screen printing. Honestly this has been one of my favorite classes I’ve ever taken and I loved how my books turned outFor the theme of my art book I chose to go with was battling addiction, smoking is the imaginary I went with but I kinda wanted it to tackle addiction as a whole. Using the five stages of grief I made five cards that started with the beginning of addiction to getting out of it. I had a lot of inspirations for this project but I used a lot of flower language for it
Card one is denial and has a yellow carnation at the top, they represent disappointment and rejection
Card two is anger with a petunia, a flower that represents anger and frustration
Card three is bargaining and a has a white tulip, these flowers are often used when asking for something or trying to right a wrong-doing
Card four is depression and it has a lily at the top since lilies are considered the sad flower, often used at American funerals
Card five is acceptance with a daffodil since they symbolize rebirth and new beginnings.
The box is meant to look like a cigarette box so that it looks like a cigarette box reused as a flower pot almost, and I put dandelions on the front since they symbolize rebirth after a harsh winter
There’s a lot more to it but honestly it would take too much room to talk about (trust me I wrote six pages worth of stuff to turn in) I’m very very happy with how it turned out in the end and I love the result, honestly my favorite thing I think I’ve ever created :)
(Sorry for the white scribbles on the boxes, don’t wanna be sharing my last name on here :) )May 4, 2023

It came out amazingly!!! I love the colors and the symbolism, and the box design is super cool!! 100% looks like a cigarette box, and I love how the flowers look when the cards are in the box

•the cigarette packaging and the flower bouquet came across immediately, good job on getting the vibes there!!! I love the colours you've used - the specific hues really fit the older aesthetic that the cards remind me of. I love how you've incorporated flower language into it, and the frillyness of the carnation really lends itself to the shapes of the smoke - 1, 4, and 5 might be my favourite of the cards hehehe
You've done amazing with this project!!! It really shows from your caption how much thought and heart you've put into this :00
