How do you know if you’re aroace or just „too young“ or „confused“ or just haven’t found the right one yet?Jan 8, 2022

just don't force yourself into a relationship if you don't want to be in one
that's all that matters imo
I thought I was "too young" for the longest time. I never had any crushes and I never wanted to date anyone, and I thought that was normal. One day a video popped up in my recommeded tab that was something like "5 signs you're ace" or something. I watched the video and related to it a lot and then I just realized haha. It was a shock to me that what I was experiencing wasn't normal for everyone.

Also, if you think you're aroace, then you can label yourself as such! If you find out later that you aren't, it's okay to change! Don't feel like labeling yourself is locking you into one thing forever. People change, and you're allowed to decide what lables fit you best! :D

I hope this helped!
I'll be honest, I was around 17-18 when I first heard the term aromantic. Before I wasn't even really sure if I was asexual, because so much of the stuff I'd seen at that time was "but we can still have relationships!!" Which was... Very unhelpful for me.

The biggest sign for me was actually... I just never had any crushes. On anyone. Not even celebrities. I sort of discounted early on that I was into other women, but it took me a while to realise I was also not into men. It was sort of a "well I must be if I'm not into women?" Kinda situation. I just thought the people in my school were assholes and that's why I hadn't fallen for anyone.

As for actually what made me feel aro was the right label was I just... Couldnt see myself in a relationship. The idea of sex horrifies me. The idea of sharing my space with someone, kissing them??? Awful. I just... Can't see myself in that kind of situation, and I don't want to be in it either. It feels awkward and fake to me.

Don't stress too much about it though. Use those labels if you feel they're right for you at this moment. It's hard to prove a negative - that youll never be attracted to anyone, so don't feel bad if you backtrack when you learn that, actually, you do want someone. It's fine!
I thought I just hadn't met the right person for a while, but 10 years after I settled on aroace, it hasn't changed once for me.
Try dating after 18 and you'll know
in the aroace spectrum here! as far as I know, you're supposed to start feeling romantic desire when you're like around 8 y/o and sexual desire when you're a teen
if you question it, then you might be aroace
there's no need to prove yourself that you are aroace (no need to be in a relationship to prove it )
you have to do some introspection and see if in the past you gave yourself signs of being aroace (because no one can't tell you what you truly are but you )
if anything else, I'm here to help!
