does anyone have any tips to gain stamina to work on big, complex pieces?
I'm so impatient that it starts getting really draining beyond the 5-6 hr mark (and that's pushing it), so most of my concepts are really simple to execute lmao...
rlly admire yall who can make super detailed pieces. my ND brain gets bored extremely easyMay 23, 2021

I work on multiple pieces at once! If I get bored, I fumble to the next! It means that some pieces get done faster than others and I still feel productive but still take an easier pace

•I totally get it but also something I try to consider is that, if it's boring for me to draw it then it's probably boring for the people looking at it.
I try to lose detail in some parts and have higher details in others. The brain will fill out the rest.
Having small or simple indications of detail can do a lot more than actually drawing each little thing.
Simplicity is a very important aspect when painting and interpretation will do most of the work
Hope this helps in some way

•This is exactly my problem right now working on a drawing that although I like how it’s coming out. I’m just not motivated

•Definitely don't force yourself to work on it just for the sakenof working on it. Taking breaks and resetting is always a good thing especially for something bigger

•I just make the project fun to work with. Aswell as put a podcast on or somthing. Most of my peices take 3-6 hours depending on shading and such.

•Hii fellow nd here, I think the simplest answer would be trust the process?
You don't necessarily need to do all of it in one go, I personally get hyperfocused on my art so it's no problem but then I have trouble getting back into it if I'm disturbed so as a downside I'll usually not eat or drink and procrastinate going to the toilet even, if it's the weekend then probably not even sleep
Another one would be a bit mean but bluntly put, work faster, you get more done in the same time and maybe with that you start thrusting the process when you see it coming together?

•I would recommend spanning it out between multiple days rather than in one sitting. I had the same problem where I would get super impatient and start rushing my work, but try to just woke on it for a little or as much as you want a day and stop when you start feeling impatient. It works well and I think they turn out better since you give yourself more time and more space to relax and breath
