Suggestive content, DNI UNDER 16I kinda don’t get it when people get so shocked by something that’s intended to be disturbing to you. Like yes of course Lolita is supposed to disgust you, Vladimir Nabokov didn’t write that book for you to agree with the main character of the book grooming a 12 year old.

I think it's people who refuse to engage in media that doesn't have its "main" characters always do the most morally correct stuff that they just... Don't know how to handle media where the main character is NOT a good person. Like, they get stuck in this idea that ALL media should show you the right morals. Despite the fact that adult media already assumes you have your own moral code, and will often intentionally have characters do gasp BAD THINGS. And that a writer can write about something to CONDEMN it, rather than to tell people that's how you act.
This is why we learn to analyse media in school. It's to get you on the path to understanding literature that doesn't hold your hand and tell you "uwu this is a bad person because I made them the bad guy".
Kids media should show people good morals. Media aimed at teenagers should start to introduce some of these greyer themes. Adult media expects you to know how to handle this stuff by now.
