Spirit GuardianI finally finished this drawing and can post the other two I made of him yes!!!
This is Church Grim, or simply just Church :)
He is of course inspired by church grims, something I thought about making a character out of for a while now.
To sum up his story, Church was buried alive many many years ago as his human form. His spirit became the protector of the cemetery he was buried in. It has been many years since then and the cemetery has become abandoned along with the church that was built near it. He spends his afterlife making sure no threats enter the cemetery, unable to leave or pass on. Although the cemetery had been long forgotten, he still fulfills his duty. He appreciates a visit every now and then, as long as he deems you safe.
After his death, he had little to no recollection of his past life.
He isn’t sure of his name or who he was in general, but he feels a strong connection to a specific headstone that he believes may be his.
You can either see him as his dog form which looks like a black German shepherd or his human form. If he feels you’ve done nothing wrong and have a pure heart, he might let you see him in his human form. However, if you are seen as a threat, he stays in his dog form and does his best to protect the cemetery, no matter the cost. He has been seen with brown eyes when he is in his human form, but can also be seen with pure white glowing eyes much like his dog form.
As for songs I would associate with him, I think Lonesome Town by Ricky Nelson, Telescope by Cavetown, or Things That Make It Warm by Cavetown would fit pretty well.
