Gorilla sketches!
Hey all, I'm looking for ways to make the fur look more grouped and less like a ton of lines. Shapes, not lines, while still having the same texture. Can anyone help me out?Apr 18, 2021#ink

Let me start just by saying that these look great.
Now if you want to convey form instead of just lines, try to make that every line follows the shape of the subject, this requires you to really pay attention to the 3d volume of the drawing, hope this helps!

•Maybe a thicker pen in the darker areas in the fur before switching to the thinner pen for the more highlighted parts? Might not work in your style but thats the first thing that comes to mind

If you'd like to get away from the line approach it might be worth a try to work with heavier light-shadow and somewhat regroup the parts with/without drawn texture. Artists that are strong on that are for example comic geniuses Mignola or Rocha.
