2021 Felix

And this is my most recent and up-to-date illustration of Felix! I wanted to show her personality some more in this one, so I really focused on her face and I love how it turned out. And then I took a leap of faith with some watercolour brushes and ended up with some v nice shading if I do say so myself.

My idea for her backstory is that she has a human mother and an elf father who had a ~~forbidden romance~~ which they’re SUPER dramatic about, and are convinced she’s some kind of chosen one who’ll unite their two cultures… but in reality, they’re just two losers doing a terrible job with split custody. She grew up into a laid-back yet stubborn character with a chip on her shoulder and no tolerance for insincerity or manipulation. Her outfits are a mishmash of bulky human armour from her mother, and ornate elven heirlooms from her father (“Yeah my dad’s really into the power of crystals and stuff. This one is pretty good for hitting people with”). In combat, she’s athletic and quick on her feet, but doesn’t use any clever tricks to take down bigger opponents - much like how I play video games, her only tactic is to hit them first and not get hit back. She’s a bit lame and I love her.
