Nike of Samothrace

I‘ve been working on a series of small Watercolor paintings, where I recreated famous artwork in my art style. It was initially just to see how they would look like, but I did learn a lot by taking a closer look at all the details, lights and shadow, how the fabric is falling and much more.

The first drawing depicts the Winged Victory of Samothrace. It was made of parian marble in about the 2nd century BC, and it currently resides in the Louvre.Nov 2, 2021
