(Long vent ahead. Feel free to ignore.)

So… let’s say there’s a group of three.

The first two have known each other for a long time, the third for a long while now.

You’re super close with the second friend, you’re almost like family. But, of course, no one’s perfect, but you yourself has the patience to understand.

But, overtime the patience wears thin as the close friend doesn’t find it easy to escape their bad habits of showing favorites to another friend. As yourself is trying to be a writer, the close friend comments to the third friend that they should be a writer.

You grow jealous… you’ve not ONCE ever gotten that kind of encouragement from the close friend. They’ve just said that to the third friend, who doesn’t like being the favorite themselves.

But, now you yourself feel like your motivation is dying off because of the mistakes of the close friend. You begin to feel distant from the friend…unfortunately.

Mistakes happen. But sometimes, they’re hard to forgive. This is currently happening with me. I can’t stop thinking what my “close” friend said to our third friend, and it’s killing my motivation to continue as either an artist or dreaming of becoming animator. I’ve expressed my feelings towards them about it and they in fact understood, but they realized they hurt themselves again by their mistake they didn’t intentionally mean to cause. It’s also hurt me as well.

It’s a bad habit, I get it. I GENUINELY DO. But I’m tired of constantly seeing this habit happen from them and them barely showing any effort to change…

For the record, if anyone says anything negative specifically to me on my jealousy like I’m “selfish” I won’t be afraid to hit that block button.

Just know I didn’t have an easy life growing up. So it’s rare enough that I gain any SORT of encouragement AT ALL.
