Have you ever posted art that became your most popular post, but it was art you hate?
It's happened to me once a long time ago when I posted a drawing thinking "no one sees my stuff anyway" only for it to be featured and it got way over 100 likes. I was happy, but also dying inside that so many people saw my bad art lol.
I wanna hear your stories if you have any!Jan 18, 2022

Literally two of my most popular drawings were the most simple, lazy ones(one of them is bad, one is fine but nothing interesting) and the other one was a dtiys entry, that i also grew to not like overtime beacuse it was quicker than most and i made it on my phone. But the art that i spend 20 hours on has much less likes for 5 times more effort. It's very annoying

i’ve always experienced an inverse type of deal, art i like always performs poorly but art i dislike always performs well and gets tons of love.
like i never understand the problem lol
like i never understand the problem lol

•My egg on toast art… I hate it so much because it so simple and it took me 30 mins? Compared to some of my other art that I think that’s… well- better

•Lol. So I made a sketch of a hawk flipping off a finch, flipping off the hawk. I posted it to r/birdswitharms and it got a bit controversial and had about 1.1k upvotes. I’ve made better pieces, with far more time, yet this piece was my 15minutes of fame lol

•The art I like and the amount of attention it gets is like an inverse correlation for me :/

•Yes absolutely... It was the Totoro and StorefrontsJapan (the 1st one because I will upload a second one next week) and I just bloody hated them and had to post something because upload schedule... Also the Gas Station one had the most reach and that was just AHHH I HAVE SO MANY OTHER BETTER DRAWINGS

•Yeah, I made a post back in 2009 on Deviantart, and people only seemed to like it and not anything else I did. I came to really hate it, but I never took it down because I didn't want to upset anyone.

•Maybe once that happened on DA I drew like sloppy smash Bros fanart and somehow it was once popular I am not mad but I to this day don't understand why.

•The snom with heart drawing I did last year did really well on Tumblr and I was just sitting there the entire time like.... I did this in less than an hour

•Same, my pinned post is a draw on wich i see so many bad things but it's my most liked post, so.
•
•I was at my most popular in like 2011 when my art was really at a beginner style and level, so I was proud at the time but just … in retrospect it’s kind of a bummer that my dA audience didn’t stick around to see me improve.

•I posted a shitty Garfield doodle here once and hid it from my gallery. I think it got like 80 likes, which is a lot for this place
•
•yes, the art of my not-so-favorite ocs sometimes become more popular than the others and it's kinda bittersweet, especially since i have bad memories with those ocs and i just keep them bcos i made them a long time ago, been trying to not care much about it
