QOTD!
What was the original inspiration that got you to start drawing, painting, crafting, or whatever other creative outlet you have?
I personally got started because of classic Disney, and later on movie Rio… ah, my beloved bird phase… That was all I could draw until mid 2015 before I finally branched out into ponies and humansApr 5, 2025

My sister used to draw so I started to draw myself here and there. Used to draw shugo chara and hetalia a lot
but I'd say I didn't actually draw consciously until 19, which was brought on by the realisation that I had nothing else I could be proud of

Pokémon. I was obsessed with Pokémon around age 12-14 and when I tried doodling my favourite ones in class I realised that I couldn't, even though I saw art of them every single day, it was so hard to draw them and make it look good. So I got home, looked up pictures of them, tried again with a reference and the result was much better. (Also funny how on day 1 of drawing I debunked the whole "using references is cheating" thing because how are you supposed to know what things look like from your memory)
And that's the moment I decided to learn how to draw just well enough to draw decent Pokémon. And then it escalated and now it's my favourite hobby :3
