I might go to a "drink and draw" at a queer cafe today.. they have it once a month and I've been putting this off since November 2020 thanks to social anxiety lmao

I'm literally so f-ing scared but I told my therapist about it and he said I should try it as a challenge, worst case scenario is I sit there awkwardly alone for like half an hour and then leave and never go back and therefore never see any of those people ever again sooooo skshdhodjdh idk, anxiety sucks lol

Woah that's so cool!!
Hope it'll not be the worst case scenario and that you can have some fun :3
>>roots for you<<
Bring some loose paper that you can tuck into your scetchbook. Doodling cute or comfort characters might help with the nervousness. And you won't have to keep your scetchbook open if you don't feel comfortable with that.
totally allow yourself to show up and go in 30 minutes if you don’t feel comfortable. it’s so important! you prove to yourself you can do it, but you always have the safety to just leave. and don’t worry no one will judge you if you‘re like hey i wanted to see this but i got something else going on. have a nice day. and 99% of the time if it’s other queers and artist they are just as akward and nervous.
In my experience the best thing is to just be honest if you feel safe enough to do that. And say hey i am a little shy but your drawings really nice or something like that. That’s how I cheated my way through social anxiety. Most of the time the other person is like same and it means the world to them.

hope it all goes well for you❤️
